Getting Started

How do I add a new connection?

To add a new connection in NameTag:

1. Tap the "+" button in the bottom right corner

2. Enter their name and any contact details

3. Add a photo (optional)

4. Include notes about how you met

5. Add any relevant tags for organization

6. Tap "Save" to store their information

Can I import my existing contacts?

Yes! You can import contacts from your phone's address book. Go to Settings > Import Contacts and select the contacts you'd like to import. You can then enhance these contacts with additional notes and tags.

How do I organize my connections?

NameTag offers several ways to organize your connections:

- Tags: Create custom tags like 'Work', 'Conference', or 'College'

- Notes: Add detailed notes about each person

- Groups: Create groups for different social circles

- Search: Quickly find people by name, tag, or notes

Managing Contacts

How do I edit or update someone's information?

To edit a contact:

1. Open their profile

2. Tap the 'Edit' button (pencil icon)

3. Update their information

4. Tap 'Save' to confirm changes

How do I remove someone from my contacts?

To remove a contact:

1. Open their profile

2. Tap the menu (three dots)

3. Select 'Delete Contact'

4. Confirm deletion

Note: This action cannot be undone, and all associated notes and reminders will be permanently deleted.

What happens to my contacts if I uninstall the app?

Important: If you uninstall NameTag, all your contact information, notes, and reminders will be permanently deleted. We recommend backing up your data before uninstalling. Your data is stored locally on your device and in your personal cloud storage, not on our servers.

How is my data protected?

Your privacy is our top priority. All data is:

- Encrypted on your device

- Never shared with third parties

- Stored anonymously

- Only accessible through your account

- Not used for marketing purposes

Do you share my contacts' information?

No. We never share your contacts' information with anyone. Your data remains private and under your control. We don't use contact information for marketing, analytics, or any other purpose.

Where is my data stored?

Your data is stored locally on your device and optionally backed up to your personal cloud storage (iCloud for iOS or Google Drive for Android). We don't maintain a central database of user contacts.

Can I set reminders for follow-ups?

Yes! To set a reminder:

1. Open a contact's profile

2. Tap 'Add Reminder'

3. Choose when you want to be reminded

4. Add a note about the follow-up

5. Save the reminder

How do I add notes about a conversation?

To add conversation notes:

1. Open the contact's profile

2. Tap 'Add Note'

3. Enter details about your conversation

4. Add date and location (optional)

5. Save the note

Can I backup my data?

Yes, you can backup your data to your personal cloud storage. Go to Settings > Backup & Sync to enable automatic backups. This ensures your connections are safe even if you lose your device.
